I made my debut as an author with the epistolary novel "Prioritaire" at the age of 38. Previously, I was an editor at Brøndum's publishing house.
Prioritaire
"Prioritaire" was well received in Denmark and translated into 17 languages. I have written the novels "Der hvor månen ligger ned", "Dampe", "Træer sår sig selv" and "Domino", novels that are all based on places where I have lived for a long time: Damascus, Christiansø, the South of France and Paris.
My novels have been translated into French, Italian, English, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Japanese, Russian, Hungarian and other languages.
Children's books
Alongside my books for adults, I have published a number of novels for children, including "The King of Southern Spain and All the Trouble" (set in an imaginative Málaga, where I lived with my children when they were young), "Fadul and All the Fad" (set in old-fashioned fantasy Damascus), "Mundgodt, Snurrepenót and All the Righteousness", "The Heiress and All the Music", "The Boy Who Only Wanted to Say F".
Bernini's eye
My latest novel, “Bernini's eye”, is built over the sculptor, the painter and architect Gian lorenzo's life and work.
Bernini was born in Naples in 1598 and died in Rome in 1680. I have been working on the book for five years, five months were spent in Rome. I have seen close to everything the very prolific artist has done.
In addition to the novel ”the Vapors”, which is written with inspiration from J. J. Fumes, there was a prisoner in two decades at Christiansø during the last absolute king in Denmark, I have not written a novel with so large a prior historical and local researcharbejde.
I have a Master's degree in Danish literature with a specialization in Henrik Nordbrandt's writing. I have also studied theater studies, art history and Italian at KUA. When I was young, I trained as a circus artist at the Ecole Nationale du Cirque in Paris.
